Admission Requirements for Foreign Students to the Undergraduate Programs

Foreign students are not any more placed in the institutions of higher education by the Student Selection and PlacementCenter. Therefore foreign students’ applications are admitted by the relevant universities within the limits of allocated places for foreigners.

Applicants’ applications are evaluated by the relevant universities, provided that allocated places per country are not more than 20% of the total allocated places for foreigners. If the allocated places are still available, the relevant university is able to admit foreign applicants without taking into consideration of this requirement.

-According to the Article 3 of the Regulations on Foreign Students who study in Turkey, those who hold either Turkish or TRNC citizenship are not able to apply totake the Examination for Foreigners (YÖS).

Admission for Foreign Students to the Universities

a)Results of the YÖS (Examination for Foreigners) on the condition that applicants must score at least 40 in the Basic Learning Skills Test of YÖS (YÖS results are valid for two years),Examinations and Minimum Scores which are considered equivalent to the YÖS for the Admission of the Foreign Students to the Universities

b) The admission is carried out by the relevant universities, assessing below given examinations and minimum scores suggested by the universities and approved by the Higher Education Supervisory Board. (There is no limitation for the validity period of the Baccalaureate exams such as ABITUR, International Baccalaureate, GCE, Tawjihi etc. However, the results of the university entrance examinations such as SAT are valid for two years).

Admission Requirements for Foreign Students in Post-Graduate Programs

Foreign students who would like to enroll ina graduate program must take the Entrance Examination for academic Staffand Graduate Studies (ALES) or internationalexamination (e.g. GRE, GMAT) the equivalency of which is recognized by the concerning university senate. The evaluation of the these scoresis made by the relevantuniversities.
